Shakib Al Hasan was born on 24 March 1987 in Magura district. Shakib became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to top the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings. Currently, he is the captain of the Bangladesh Test team. Shakib is considered the best Bangladeshi cricketer of all time. Few would disagree with his track record and achievements. Shakib is literally an all-rounder with great batting, brilliant bowling, and excellent fielding. Shakib is one of the best all-rounders not only in Bangladesh but also in international cricket.

In the history of cricket, he is the only cricketer to be number one in three types of cricket, Test, ODI and T20 at the same time. Shakib first achieved this feat in 2015. Shakib himself has done this feat again, which no other country's cricketer could do. Shakib stands out in another all-round feat. In October 2017, he reached 5000 runs and 200 milestones in ODIs. It took him only 178 ODIs. No one else could do this feat so quickly. Shakib is one of only three all-rounders in Test history to have scored a century and taken 10 wickets in the same match.

Shakib has the most Test wickets for Bangladesh. The fight for the most wickets in ODIs is going on with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Till February 2018, Shakib's wickets in ODIs are 235, Mashrafe's 237. Shakib's Test wickets are 188. He also has the highest innings for Bangladeshi batsmen in Tests. Shakib is only the fourth bowler in history to take 5 wickets in an innings against all 9 opponents in Tests.

Shakib Al Hasan made his debut on 6 August 2006, in the ODI tour of Zimbabwe. Test debut against India in Chittagong in May 2007. He quickly became the life of Bangladesh cricket. However, the footsteps of the big star of Bangladesh cricket could be heard from his growing age. His father Mashroor Reza admitted the game-crazy Shakib to BKSP (Bangladesh Sports Education Institution). Mashroor himself was a footballer of Magura. Shakib's cousin Mehedi Hasan Ujjwal also played for the Bangladesh national football team.

 

Coming from a sports-mad family, it was not easy for Shakib to become a player. Even at the beginning of the new millennium, many middle-class families could not think of taking up sports as a career. From there, Shakib has climbed the ladder of success one by one and has become one of the most expensive stars in Bangladesh. Has established himself as one of the best stars in T20 leagues like IPL. In 2011, Shakib was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 4 lakh 25 thousand dollars.

Shakib was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2 crore in the 2018 IPL auction. Apart from IPL, Shakib has played in Australia's Big Bash, Pakistan's PSL, West Indies' CPL, Sri Lanka's SLPL. Among them, his 6 wickets for 6 runs in CPL is one of the best bowling in T20. Shakib also played county cricket in England. In this way, one of the best icons of Bangladesh at that time, Shakib became the representative of Bangladesh in world cricket.

In 2009, Shakib led the Bangladesh team as the first acting captain. Under the leadership of Shakib, Sebar Bangladesh toured the West Indies and won the Test and ODI series. Shakib also led the World Cup held in Bangladesh in 2011. Later Shakib lost the leadership in the face of many controversies. Shakib has also been involved in controversies at various times in his career. He has also been banned for various periods.

On December 12, 2012, Shakib married Umme Ahmed Shishir. Shishir met Shakib while playing county cricket for Worcestershire in England in 2011. In 2015, Shakib and Shishir's daughter Alayna Hasan Aubry was born. In his educational career, Shakib passed BBA from AIUB (American International University of Bangladesh).
